MLSE and Penny Appeal Canada are teaming up to combat hate in London, Ontario
Penny Appeal Canada was in London, Ontario as the Official Community Outreach Partner with the MLSE Foundation, Toronto Raptors and Toronto Maple Leafs. A weekend of events was held to unite the community, with the theme of ‘Love All. Hate None.’ as a show of support to stand against hate anywhere and everywhere, and to use the power that sport has to bring people together.
We’ve partnered with the London Muslim community to determine what Penny Appeal Canada can do to provide support. The overwhelming response was the need of Mental Health resources to the region. With your support, we will be implementing a full-time trauma based counsellor that will be available not only to Muslims, but to people of all religions, ethnicities, genders, ages with no discrimination of any kind.

Penny Appeal Canada’s investment in the community
We are investing in the London community in two ways:
- We are funding a dedicated Mental Health resource that will provide support and counselling services to families and individuals in London, Ontario. Please support this cause.
- We donated 250 tickets each day to be distributed to the local Muslim community of London.
MLSE Legacy Project
To provide a lasting change and access to sports for London’s youth, MLSE and MLSE Foundation are working with the City of London and the local Muslim community to develop a legacy project. This will include investing $250,000 to refurbishing parks and basketball courts around the city of London.
