What is happening in Afghanistan?

Search and rescue efforts are ongoing after a powerful 6.3 magnitude earthquake hit just outside of Herat city, leveling entire villages. Reports coming out of Afghanistan are suggesting the deathroll is expected to reach 3,000 people. People have been sleeping in public parks and streets, fearing powerful aftershocks that could topple already damaged structures.
