Millions at risk due to flooding in Nigera
The floods in Nigeria have ravaged the country, killing over 600 people and destroying homes and displacing 1.3 million, and the number is rising daily. The heavy rains have lead to destructive flooding in almost all 36 districts across the country. More than ever, Nigerians face severe food scarcity and hunger as nearly all farm land is underwater.
People are in desperate need of food, shelter and clean water and other basic needs to survive this calamity. Penny Appeal Canada is working closely with partners on the ground in Nigeria to provide immediate relief through the provision of food packs, hygiene kits, and emergency kits to individuals and families in dire need.
