The Current Humanitarian Catastrophe
Conditions are Getting Worse Everyday
Food scarcity has increased substantially. What remains of available food has gone up in price. Due to the current situation, many are not able to work and provide for their families, making the simple act of purchasing food impossible. Thousands of people are at risk of death due to starvation.
Medical clinics and hospitals have run out of equipment and supplies. Hospitals have been overrun with the sick and injured. Many are being treated on the floor due to a lack of beds. Surgeries are being performed without anaesthesia or proper sanitary conditions. Moreover, hospitals that were once thought to be safe spaces, have been subjected to several military strikes causing damage. Patients with severe chronic conditions that require on-going treatment are no longer receiving the care they require. Infrastructure such as roads have been blocked off by rubble, or completely destroyed, making it difficult for ambulances to reach the injured.
Due to civil infrastructure being destroyed, water security is at an all time low. The lack of available clean water for washing and basic hygiene has put people at risk of contracting water-borne diseases, with the potential of spreading quickly amongst the population. The calamity that the people of Palestine face is beyond words. But you can help.

We are the Only Canadian Charity with an MoU with the Egyptian Red Crescent
Penny Appeal has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Egyptian Red Crescent to help deliver emergency aid and supplies to the people of Gaza. When you donate to Palestine through Penny Appeal, you can rest assured that our aid is getting on the delivery trucks, making it across the Rafah border and being delivered to the people in Gaza. This MoU has ensured that a consistent supply chain of emergency relief is being delivered on a daily basis.
Your donations ensure that aid deliveries include clean water, dignity and hygiene kits, non perishable food packs, emergency shelter kits, and essential medical supplies. These items are procured in Egypt and are assembled in our Cairo warehouse, ensuring everything is packed correctly and able to pass multiple inspections along the way. Penny Appeal Canada has worked hard to ensure your donations are put to good use and that your charity is maximized to help as many people as possible.

Our charity efforts in Palestine do not focus on Emergency Response alone. We’ve brought together many of our programs to bring you our Love Palestine campaign. Your donations to Palestine have helped build desalination units to provide safe and clean drinking water through our Thirst Relief Program.

We are proud that Penny Appeal is the only charity in Canada that has signed an MoU with the Egyptian Red Crescent, allowing for a consistent supply chain of relief items to enter Gaza. As the assault continues, we are ensuring that the immediate necessities of people are being delivered.
Due to the overwhelming number of children that have been affected, Penny Appeal Canada has set up an Emergency Orphan Support program that specifically goes towards meeting the immediate needs of children that have lost one or both of their parents.
Through Feed Our World, your donations have provided thousands of people with Iftaar meals during Ramadan, and contributed to planting hundreds of olive trees around the region for farmers. We are most proud of our Orphan Sponsorship program that has provided long term care for hundreds of orphaned Palestinian children by assisting them with schooling, food, and mental health support.
