The Current Situation in Yemen
According to UN reports more than 268,000 people have been affected by the floods in Yemen, leaving many without shelter and basic necessities.
The latest news has reported about 100 deaths, and 600 injured. Hundreds of people have been displaced from their homes. Entire communities find themselves under high levels of flood water. Seven hospitals have been completely destroyed, leaving the population with extremely limited medical care. Three schools have been completely destroyed, along with major roads and public infrastructure that have been severely damaged, some beyond repair. Among the hardest hit are the governorates of Al Hodeidah, Hajjah, Marib, Sa’dah, and Taiz.
