Hurricane Ida

Hurricane Ida has officially hit Louisiana as a Category 4 storm. It has started to rip through Louisiana, already hitting the coastal cities and on its way to mainland towards New Orleans with 150 mph (240km/h) winds and surges of rain.

Hurricane Ida is said to be stronger than Hurricane Katrina that devastated much of New Orleans on this same day in 2005, leaving 80% of Louisiana flooded.
