Current Situation

Recent cross border hostilities have devastated southern Lebanon and Beirut’s suburbs, forcing in more than 1 million people, mostly from Beirut and South Lebanon to flee. This newly displaced population are currently living in shelters, relatives’ homes, schools, and open spaces. Roads are clogged with fleeing families, and host areas like Saida face overcrowding.

Lebanon’s pre-existing crises are exacerbating the situation: 1.5 million Lebanese, Syrian refugees, Palestinians, and migrants already struggle with poverty and conflict fallout. Extreme economic instability has made many people uncertain about their futures. Our emergency response team is currently on the ground working to provide immediate relief to those affected by this latest escalation.
