Current Situation
The people of Afghanistan are facing violence, danger and great hardship as Taliban has taken control of Afghanistan. The UN refugee agency has said nearly 250,000 Afghans have been forced to flee their homes, wit 80% of those displaced are women and children. This comes at a time when Afghanistan is experiencing a strong wave of COVID-19.
What is Penny Appeal Canada doing?
Penny Appeal Canada is responding to the emergency in Afghanistan, specifically Shamali and Shahri by providing much needed food packs as well as clothing/hygiene kits to support the thousands of individuals who have been injured. Situation is closely being monitored.
